Welcome to the Roots Music Safari

Welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay!! I hope you find a new Blues, Bluegrass, Folk or Americana  artist or band!

I’m E. K.  Karn \the leader and guide of the Roots Music Safari! When I started blogging a long time ago I listened mainly to Roots Music, My listening included folk, blues, bluegrass and other bands that fell under the broad umbrella of Americana music.

It was my intention to write about the musicians I loved. After a few years of blogging I started to explore other genres that I listened to occasionally. Those genres included: jazz, new age and progressive roots.

Over the years I started listening to those genres more then the Roots Music I loved. Additionally, many of the artists whose new music I always sought out have passed away. The list includes John Prine, Jerry Jeff Walker, Jesse Winchester, Bill Morrissey, and Leonard Cohen.

So what I’ve decided to do at Roots Music Safari is to look both forward and backward. I want to rekindle my love for many of the older musician I loved to listen to and maybe introduce them to a new audience.

However , I will never stop listening to and searching out new music in hopes of finding the next John Prine or Leonard Cohen.

Over the next couple of weeks I will be creating pages to allow you readers to better access my older posts. While hopefully still writing new posts.

So welcome and here’s what’s been happening…. unfortunately some of these post are pretty old. I really need to start writing posts about the albums I listened to lately!!
